Privacy Policy
Halloween Monster Hunter has no account, no server and no analytics. Nothing you do in the app is sent anywhere, and nothing is collected about you.
This policy explains that in full, including the few permissions the app asks for and the single external service it contacts.
Who we are
Halloween Monster Hunter is published by MEDIASTAGE S.R.L. Questions about this policy can be sent to officemediastage@gmail.com.
What we collect
Nothing. There is no sign-up, no profile, no advertising identifier, no crash reporting and no usage tracking of any kind. We do not know that you have installed the app, opened it, or how you use it.
What stays on your phone
The app stores a small amount of data locally, on the device only:
- Your case log, including any photographs you capture with the lens.
- Your settings — sound, vibration, jump scares, narrative voice, instrument look.
- How much of the free trial you have used, and whether the lens is currently unlocked.
All of it is deleted when you uninstall the app. The case log can be cleared at any time from the Case Log screen.
Permissions, and exactly what each is for
- Camera. Used to show the live view in the lens, which the monsters are drawn over. Frames are displayed on screen and are only saved if you press the shutter, in which case they are written to your device. Nothing is uploaded.
- Microphone. Used to measure sound level in decibels for the field scan, and during a rite to detect whether you are speaking. Audio is measured moment to moment and discarded. No recording is saved, no speech is recognised or transcribed, and no audio leaves the device.
- Physical activity / motion. Used for the step counter — steps taken in the dark are what bring the next monster — and to tell whether the phone is being carried or lying flat on a surface.
- Location (optional). Used only to look up the outdoor temperature for your area. If you decline it, the app simply shows no outdoor temperature and everything else works normally.
- Photo library (optional). Used only to save evidence photos you have chosen to capture.
The one external service
If you allow location access, the app sends approximate coordinates to Open-Meteo to retrieve the current outdoor temperature for that area. This is a single weather lookup. No identifier, no device information and nothing about your use of the app is sent with it, and the result is not stored beyond the current session.
The subscription
The lens can be kept open with a monthly subscription. The transaction, the billing and the renewal are handled entirely by Apple or Google. We never see or receive your payment details, your name or your billing address.
The app asks the store one question only — whether the signed-in store account currently has an active subscription — so that the lens opens on your other devices and after a reinstall. The answer is cached on the device so that the app keeps working without a network connection. We operate no server, so no record of your subscription exists anywhere outside your device and the store.
Children
Halloween Monster Hunter is designed to frighten adults and older teenagers and is not directed at children. It collects no data from anyone, of any age.
Your rights
Because no personal data is collected or transmitted, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export or delete on your behalf. Everything the app has lives on your device and is removed with the app. If you are in the EU or UK and wish to exercise a right under the GDPR, write to the address above and we will confirm this in writing.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new date at the top.
